The applet allows to investigate the task: Finding the location of the point O inside the triangle (on a line parallel to BC), for which the area of the triangle EOD is max.
The point O can be dragged on the line parallel to BC. When it is dragged, the area of the triangle EOD is changed. The point O, the area of the triangle EOD and the magnitude of the angles AED and ABC are shown. The max area is obtained when ED is parallel to BC.
