Rotations

Properties of Rotations

A quadrilateral has been rotated counterclockwise about a point using an angle. Use the Perpendicular Bisector Tool to construct the perpendicular bisectors of all the pairs of corresponding points. Adjust the angle and the point of rotation and watch what happens to the perpendicular bisectors.

Observe

What do you notice about the perpendicular bisectors of the pairs of corresponding points?

Construct

Below, a figure has been rotated around a point, but the point is hidden. Use the Perpendicular Bisector Tool to find the point of rotation.

Explain

How do you find the point about which an image was rotated from a preimage?
