Interactive graphical worksheet 4 haversine sight reduction
This interactive sheet shows how the altitude and azimuth of a heavenly body (i.e. the Sun) can be detemined by graphically solving two formulas being the haversine version of the spherical law of cosines.
Set the input data with the sliders (declination of the heavenly body, latitude of the observer and Local Hour Angle (LHA) between the longitude of the observer and the Greenwich Hour Angle of the heavenly body) and watch what happens.
