Bearings Summary

This page summarizes 3 main ways of expressing direction (i.e. "bearing") from point A to point B. In any illustration, you can move any large points around at any time.

Bearing expressed as the number of degrees rotated clockwise from due North about A

Direction Angle = Angle formed by rotating counterclockwise (about A) from due east of A

Bearing expressed using two of the 4 cardinal directions (North, South, East, West). Be sure to move point B around to illustrate!
