Parabola as an envelope of straight lines

Description

A straight line m and a point A are given. Let B be an arbitrary point in the line m. The parabola is defined as the envelope of the perpendicular bisectors to AB. Things to try:
  • Drag points A and B.
  • Drag the slider to move B.
  • To show the trace of the perpendicular bisector to AB, activate the box Trace.
