Pythagorean Theorem Informal Proof

Example 1: We can use the Pythagorean Theorem (leg1) 2 + (leg2) 2 = hypotenuse2 or 2 2 2 a + b = c to find the missing side of a right triangle. Use your ruler to draw a rectangle to scale, that has legs of length 7 cm by 10 cm. Next draw a diagonal through the rectangle.
