CCSS TP Algebra I 1.5.4 Example 1

Solve the exponential equation. Note: This applet is dynamic. The right side of the equation generates different values each time a new base is entered.
  1. Find a common base for both sides of the equation, if one exists.
  2. Rewrite the equation so that both sides have the same base.
  3. Solve for x by setting the exponents equal to each other.
  4. Check your answer.
