Below is a sequence that examines the relationship between the figure number and the number of small shaded rectangles in the figure.
1) Click on the Graphics side to open the Graphics Toolbar. Create Figure 5 using the “Wrench” tools in the toolbar. Begin by inserting “Figure4” and then use “1Rectangle” to create Figure 5. Click on the "Pointer" tool to be able to move objects around once created. Write the figure number and number of rectangles in the table. Click on cell to enter the number in the table. The ordered pair will automatically be created. 2) Determine the function that represents the relationship between the figure number and the number of created rectangles. Write it in the “Input” box at the bottom as “f(x) = ”. 3) If the pattern continues, how rectangles will be in the 12th figure?
