Vector Angle Conversion

Practice Converting Between Heading, Direction Angle, and Quadrant Bearing Enter a value for either Heading or Direction Angle and see how the vector and the other angle forms change.
  • Heading (course, or bearing) are COMPASS angles and are measured CLOCKWISE from NORTH.
  • Quadrant bearing is a short-cut notation for heading and is measured FROM the first letter (either NORTH or SOUTH) TOWARD the last letter (either WEST or EAST).
  • Direction angle (our vector angle) is the TRIG angle measured COUNTERCLOCKWISE from the positive X-AXIS.
