Two Reflections

Two reflections over intersecting lines.

Reflecting over two intersecting lines is the same as a rotation. Use this diagram to compare the angle of rotation with the angle of intersection of the lines of reflection. 1. Measure the angle of rotation. 2. Measure the angle between the lines of reflection. 3. Move the blue or the red points to compare the measures of the angles.

Two reflections over parallel lines

Reflecting over two parallel lines is the same as a translation. Use this diagram to compare the distance of translation with the distance between the lines of reflection. 1. Measure the distance of translation. 2. Measure the distance between the lines of reflection. 3. Move the blue or the red points to compare the distances. *The dotted line is perpendicular to the lines of reflection to measure distance accurately.
