# Finding Ratios of Sides (Right Triangle)

## Instructions

In the following five windows find the ratios of the sides for the triangles. Use those ratios to fill out the chart provided and to answer the questions below each triangle. Round all answers to the nearest thousandths place. ﻿Example: The triangles sides are labeled with respect to the acute angle (30, 45, etc). Label your answers as 1, 2, 3 for each question that asks for the ratio and round to the nearest thousandth.

## 30 degree acute angle

Find the ratio of the following side lengths of this triangle. 1. 2. 3.

Adjust the triangle to have different side lengths. Calculate the ratios again. What do you notice about the ratios when you round to the nearest hundredth?

Now use these values to fill in your chart for the 30 degree angle.

## 20 degree acute angle

Find the ratios of the following side lengths of this right triangle with a 20 degree acute angle. 1. 2. 3.

Now use these values to fill in your chart for the 20 degree angle.

## 45 degree acute angle.

Find the ratios of the following side lengths of this right triangle with a 45 degree acute angle. 1. 2. 3.

Now use these values to fill in your chart for the 45 degree angle.

## 10 degree acute angle

Find the ratios of the following side lengths of this right triangle with a 10 degree acute angle. 1. 2. 3.

Now use these values to fill in your chart for the 10 degree angle.

## 40 degree acute angle

Find the ratios of the following side lengths of this right triangle with a 45 degree acute angle. 1. 2. 3.

To find the third angle in all of these triangles what must you do? (You are given 1 acute and the 90 degree angle)
