Joe T's theorem I

Use the three green dots to set your quadratic [green function]. The purple function is the derivative of the green function. The blue vertical line lies midway between the roots of the quadratic. The orange vertical line lies midway between the intersections of the quadratic and its derivative. Conjectures? Proofs? Extensions? What questions would you ask your students based on this applet?
This applet was conceived by Jose Torres of the Texas Graduate Center and Edinburg High School. He wrote an earlier version of this applet as part of a Mathematics for Teaching project at the Harvard Extension School.
