Cutting Strips from a Square

This is one of the steps of the Hindu Square Root Algorithm.
Drag points A and B to cut strips off the top and right sides of the square to make a smaller square.
If you just subtract the areas of two equal strips, you get the wrong area, since the area of the small square at top right was subtracted twice, but only removed once.
