Trig Ratio Exploration

In this activity, you will explore the relationship between the sides of a right triangle and its angles.
1) Move point B up and down. What changes in the triangle? What stays the same in the triangle? 2) Move point A side to side. What changes in the triangle? What stays the same? 3) Look at the ratios between the sides. When you move point B, what happens? When you move point A, what happens? 4) The starting triangle has ratio a/h=0.6 and ratio b/h=0.8 a) Write down the measure of each of the angles. b) Find a triangle that switches those ratios (a/h = 0.8 and b/h = 0.6). What do you notice about the angles of your new triangle?
