To find the shortest path, I took the following steps:
draw a midpoint on the straight line from you to the tent
draw a line perpendicular to the stream that passes through the midpoint you drew
place a point at the intersection of the stream and the perpendicular line
draw a straight line from you to that point, and then from that point to the tent.
