Copy a Segment Construction

To construct a copy of line segment AB, complete these steps: (1) Click on the Compass tool Toolbar Image. Then click points A and B and a circle will appear. The circle has a radius length of AB. (2) Move the circle to point C. Then click on point C. Point C will be the center of the circle. (3) Click on the Point tool Toolbar Image. Then click on the circle. A circle will be constructed on the circle. (4) Click on the Segment tool Toolbar Image. Then click on point C and the point on the circle. A line segment will be constructed. (5) Click on the Distance tool Toolbar Image. Then click on both line segments (NOT the endpoints). The length of each line segment will appear. (6) Click on the Move tool Toolbar Image and move point B. If your construction has been completed correctly, the length of both line segments should be the same.
