Basic Rules and Strategy for Signpost Problems

In a Signpost puzzle, you want to get from start to finish, visiting each arrow exactly once. The arrows tell you the direction of the next step, but not the distance. In the version shown below, start at the arrow with an extra frame around it. Finish at the three concentric circles. Move the slider to see some basic strategy ideas for solving this kind of puzzle.
