TEST: Parallel and Perpendicular Constructions
STUDENTS:
The Converse Perpendicular Transversal Theorem states that
if two lines are perpendicular to the same line, then those two lines are parallel.
Given a line, AB, and a point not on that line, C:
1. Construct a line perpendicular to AB that passes through C. Change its color to green.
2. Construct a line perpendicular to your new line that passes through C. Change its color to orange.
The orange line will be parallel to line AB.
3. Do the drag test to check your work.
Is your green line perpendicular to AB? Is your orange line parallel to AB?
Do not hide constructions, but you may change colors, thickness, style of the support parts.
