A.1.15 Learning Goal

I can compare and contrast situations using measures of center and measures of variability. Here is a list of some the ideas we have explored: Measures of center: Mean & Median; these give the average value of a set of data Measures of variability (spread): MAD, standard deviation, and IQR; large numbers mean data is spread out around the center, small numbers mean data is clumped close to the measure of center. When data is symmetric (or close to symmetric) we use mean and standard deviation to analzye. When data is skewed or has outliers we use median and IQR to analzye.
