Kopie von Solving cubic equations by origami
The origami construction to solve , as presented at http://origami.ousaan.com/library/conste.html.
Use the sliders to set the equation constants. The slope of the tangent line is the real solution of the equation. The origami fold that finds the tangent is "fold onto and onto ".
The function is hidden by default, but you can turn it on to watch how the function and the construction changes when changing parameters.
Notice how when a second or third solution appears, the tangent sometimes "flips" to a new position. Actually, when there are more solutions to the equation, there also exist more solutions to the common tangent, and we can find any (or all) via origami (or GeoGebra!).
