Hippocrates Diagram For Trisecting An Angle
Move Point D up and down and see how angle BAF is 1/3 of angle BAD. What is the relationship between the length of segment FE and segment AD? Click on the checkbox DG. G is the midpoint of EF. What do you notice about the length of line segment DG? Uncheck DF and then try to prove that if FE is double the length of AD that angle BAD must be three times angle BAF.
