Set Perimeter Area Comparison

Point J Explanation

Point J has coordinates (b, poly1). It is traced to show all of the possible values along AB. The max of this parabola occurs when length = width (when the two circles align) thus the maximum area occurs when length - width (when the figure is a square).

Set Perimeter Explanation

This diagram works because the perimeter for figure ACGF is set as a constant at length h (of line segment HI). The figure can be altered to various length and width combinations by moving point C along line a2, proving the maximum area for a quadrilateral with a set perimeter will always be enclosed in a square.
