Physics Notes: Selected Topics

This activity is a collection of notes on selected topics in physics. These were used by the author in teaching Honors and AP physics. The level of the material varies; some is relatively basic, some is more advanced. Of particular interest is the "kinematics recipe." This approach was helpful for students, starting early in the year with 1D kinematics, which has many variables and several equations to use in problem-solving. Potentially confusing. Further, these problems are almost always "story problems" which in themselves seem to cause difficulty for many students. It was found that having an orderly, disciplined process for attacking these problems was very useful. There is also in the author's resources a collection of documents with detailed analysis of various aspects of projectile motion; those are not repeated in this collection. NOTE: The lab or data-analysis PDFs that were in this activity have been moved to the Physics Labs activity.
