Copy of Parallel Lines and Transversal

  • Show the angle relationships associated with two parallel lines and a transversal
  • Show the naming of angle pairs formed by two lines and a transversal
  • Moveable points: All blue points
  • Use Parallel Lines checkbox to force parallel lines

Vertical Angles of Parallel Lines

Force the lines to be parallel and check the box for vertical angles. Drag one of the points on the parallel lines to change the slope of the two parallel lines. Describe the pairs of vertical angles for both sets of lines.

Vertical Angles of Non-Parallel Lines

Uncheck the box for forcing parallel lines and check the box for vertical angles. Drag one of the points on the parallel lines to change the slope of the two parallel lines. Describe the pairs of vertical angles for both sets of lines.

Corresponding Angles of Two Non-Parallel Lines

Check the box for Corresponding angles and write a conditional statement that will describe corresponding angles when given a transversal of two non-parallel lines.

Corresponding Angles of Two Parallel Lines

Check the box for Corresponding angles and write a conditional statement that will describe corresponding angles when given a transversal of two parallel lines.

Alternate Interior Angles of Two Non-Parallel Lines

Check the box for Alternate Interior angles and write a conditional statement that will describe corresponding angles when given a transversal of two non-parallel lines.
