Double Slit Experiment - Hyperbola
This demonstration shows the Double-slit experiment. It has plane waves hitting a barrier at x=0 and passing through two "slits" in the barrier at points A and B. The resulting circular wave fronts interfere and give the double slit interference pattern on the right. Press the Show Maxima button to trace the maxima and see the maxima quickly displaying the classic linear behavior as they approach the asymptotes of their respective hyperbolas.
It runs more smoothly in the desktop app where you can increase the number of wave fronts being tracked to get a better view of the interference pattern.
