We can generalize the relationship between the volume of cubes and pyramids to prisms and pyramids.
For the volume of a prism we know the formula:
Vprism = areabase . height
The volume of a pyramid equals 1/3th of the volume of the prism with the same base and height as the pyramid. We can conclude:
Vpyramid = 1/3 . areabase . height
