Investigation 1

What can you draw with the double-edge straightedge ?

Steps 1,2,3

draw two pairs of parallel lines that intersect eachother copy one of the sides of the parallelogram compare lengths copy and complete the conjecture

Double edge straightedge conjecture

If two parallel lines are intersected by a second pair of parallel lines that are the same distance apart as the first pair, then the parallelogram formed is a rhombus.

Investigation 2

Do rhombus diagonals have special properties ?

Rhombus Diagonals Conjecture

The diagonals o a rhombus are bisectors and they are perpendicular

Rhombus Angles Conjecture

The diagonals of a rhombus bisect the angles of a rhombus

Investigation 3

Do rectangle diagonals have special properties ?

Rectangle Diagonals Conjecture

The diagonals of a rectangle are congruent and bisect eachother

Square Diagonals Conjecture

The diagonals of a square are congruent perpendicular bisectors
