## Purple Line Length

[1] Practice moving the green, orange and purple line. Clicking and dragging one end of each line moves the whole line. Clicking and dragging the other end allows you to rotate the line. When you're done, move the lines near to where they were when you started.
[2] Try moving the slider. What happens to the length of the purple line?
[3] Now move the slider until you think the purple line is longer than the green line and shorter than the orange line.
[4] Find a way to show that your purple line is longer than the green line and shorter than the orange line. (You may find out you need to change the length of the purple line by moving the slider).

[5] Can you think of another way you could show that your purple line is longer than the green line and shorter than the orange line?
[6] Is there a way you could show that a line twice as long as the green line would be longer than the orange line?
[7] Choose two objects in the room with different lengths. Now see if you can identify something else in the room that is longer than one of the objects and shorter than the other.
[8] How could you show if this third object is longer than one of the objects and shorter than the other?
