Fraction intuition

Now move the blue dot to make the numerator physically larger or smaller than the denominator.

When the numerator and the denominator are the same size, the fraction represents the number 1.
When the numerator is smaller, the fraction represents a number smaller than 1.
When the numerator is larger, the fraction represents a number larger than 1.
