Parallel Lines

Parallel Line Construction

Follow these steps to construct a line parallel to AB through E 1) Using the POINT TOOL, mark point G anywhere on segment FB. FG must be shorter than FE 2) Using the COMPASS TOOL, create a circle with radius FG and center point F. Click on the COMPASS TOOL, then click F, then G, then F 3) Using the POINT TOOL, mark point H at the intersection of circle F and segment FE H should be a black dot, not purple 4) Using the COMPASS TOOL, create a circle with radius FG and center point E. Click on the COMPASS TOOL, then click F, then G, then E 5) Using the POINT TOOL, mark point I at the intersection of circle E and segment DE I should be a black dot, not purple (If I is too close to D use the MOVE TOOL to drag G closer to F to make the circles smaller) 6) Using the COMPASS TOOL, create a circle with radius HG and center point I Click on the COMPASS TOOL, then click H, then G, then I (If I is too close to D use the MOVE TOOL to drag G closer to F to make the circles smaller) 7) Using the POINT TOOL, mark point J at the intersection of circles E and I J should be a black dot, not purple There are two intersection points, one will make parallel lines, one will not... 7) Using the LINE TOOL, draw a line from E through J
