Conclusions (and a few more properties)

The example with which we started reasoning about the growth rate of a linear function was the restriction of a linear function over , and we considered integer values of x to make reasoning simpler, but the same reasoning holds for any . Generalizing the formula obtained above for any linear function of the form , we can say that these functions grow additively by units over any interval of length 1 unit.
