Visual Proof of Pythagorean Theorem

Author:
kosband, Jennifer Talavage
Topic:
Pythagoras or Pythagorean Theorem, Rectangle, Right Triangles
For a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse length c equals the sum of the squares of the leg lengths a and b. This visual proof was developed by Jennifer Talavage, who was inspired by Stephen Kent Stephenson.
The area c2 of the big square before transformation clearly equals the sum a2 + b2 of the two smaller squares after transformation.
