Identify extrema on a graph

DRAFT. This applet is under review. Drag the points (the colored shapes) from the top of the screen, and place them at the appropriate locations on the graph.
  • Multiple points may go to the same position on the graph.
  • You must drag points to within 0.5 of the "true" position.
  • There may be more points than you need to move; just leave any unneeded points within the "home region" rectangle at the top of the screen.
When you finish, click the "Check" button to see how you did. Good luck! (One last note. The definition of local extrema varies from author to author. In this activity, we suppose that an endpoint may be a local extremum.)
