8.2 (Day 2) Finding the Incenter

DIRECTIONS:

Navigating Geoebra:
  • Click on the purple TOOLS icon to access the Geogebra tools.
  • You may have to click on "MORE" to see all the tools
  • You can zoom in and out on the graph.
Finding the Incenter:
  1. Use the POLYGON Toolbar Image tool to plot your points and construct your triangle.
  2. Use the ANGLE BISECTOR (AB) tool to construct the AB's of the triangle's 3 sides.
  3. Use the MOVE tool to select the intersection of the three angle bisectors. This will tell you the coordinates of that point.

Example A: Find the Incenter of the triangle with points A(6,6) B(8,-4) C(-3,5).
