Chapter 3 Transformational Geometry: Project 3

Project 3: Ferris Wheel

Ferris Wheel Explanation

This diagram works by fixing a point C to the circumference of a circle and rotating it along the circle in 45 degree increments. The circle then turns, but only when dragged from the original point C. Each incremental point is fixed with a polygon "bucket", by using the "translate by vector" tool and connecting the top polygon corner to each point along the circle circumference. This creates the Ferris Wheel figure. I have animated the figure, and created a star patterning by finding the midpoints of the segments of each radius reaching a "bucket" and connecting those points along an inner, midpoint circle.
