Derivative at a point directions:

Two points make a line. Note the line between the red and blue dot on the graph. Move the red dot on the graph to change its position. Move the other red dot in the slider (h) to change the distance between the dots. Note that as the points get closer together, the slope of the line approaches the slope of the curve. This is the derivative: the slope at a point.
