Foucault's Pendulum
This applet features a theoretical Foucault's pendulum.
Drag the sphere to determine its launch position and then start the animation.
In this applet, the angular velocity of the precession movement (determined by the latitude at which the pendulum is) is arbitrary and called "rotation speed", but it is important to highlight that in the northern hemisphere the direction of precession is clockwise, in the southern hemisphere the direction is counterclockwise and in the equator there is no precession. In addition, at the poles the precession period reaches its minimum (1 day).
