5.4 Classifying Quadrilaterals

Given the definition of quadrilaterals below. Construct them using the tools below and list their properites in your math notebook.

Quadrilateral: Four sided polygon Parallelogram: Both pairs of opposite sides are parallel Rectangle: Parallelogram with at least one right angle. Rhombus: Parallelogram with two consecutive sides are congruent Kite: Quadrilateral in which two disjoint pairs of consecutive sides are congruent. Square: Parallelogram is both a rectangle or rhombus Trapezoid: Quadrilaterals with exactly one pair of parallel sides called bases Isosceles Trapezoid: Trapezoid where the nonparallel sides (legs) are congruent.
