Symmetry Workpage

Topic:
Symmetry
Students will use this workpage to explore the idea of symmetry. This is a lot more interactive and efficient compared to using paper because the students can move as many points around and see the effect it makes instantly.
What happens when you move a point on the page? Why do you think this happens? Where do you think the line of symmetry is? Does the points ever cross over the line of symmetry?
Do you think that all shapes have symmetry? Does a circle have symmetry? What is the maximum amount of symmetry a line can have?
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.G.A.3 Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry.
